Cascade Templedog

Just tried tying this creation having taken inspiration from other flies on the forum, and thought I could try a step by step.

Dressing:

Hook: Coppper tube
Tail: orange and yellow bucktail mix + crystal hair
Body: gold holographic tinsel, ribbed with silver wire
Bottom hackle: orange cock
Top hackle: yellow cock
Under wing: yellow arctic fox
Over wing: black arctic fox, topped with flashy stuff
Cheeks: JC

fix tube in vice and wind on some thread


tie in cascade tail with crystal hair, silver wire and then gold body tinsel


wind the tinsel along to the head and rib with the wire


pull back the fibres on the orange hackle and tie it in by its tip


wind on about 4 turns and secure


repeat with yellow hackle and tie over a small buch of yellow arctic fox


take a slightly longer bunch of black arctic fox and tie over the yellow


finally add a couple of strands of silver holographic tinsel, JC cheeks, whip finish and varnish

Ross, hopefully i'll give it a swim in the Ericht on Friday if the water is ok.

The tube is just a 3/4' veniards copper slipstream - guess the close up makes it look huge.
