got this beat bookd for monday, spendin weekend it kenmore then headin up there wae ma 2 mates monday, canna wait, anyone no how it been fishin? advice n tips wud b welll appreciatit! only 45 squid for the 3 a us an all, well gd eh

well........ went yesterday, had gr8 day, no salmon but did get a bloody pike! a duckin pike! wits goin on? a wudna hav believed it if dennis neva told me they got a high teens one in june! Fish were splashin about in the pools but neva connected water was well low an all, lowest a eva saw the tummel, but wis a gd day, 2 a ma pals went wae me liked it 2, fink they enjoyed emself, also yous will b proud, a hid a gd bash wiff the fly wiff a stoats tail but nuffin , it looked crackin for fly n fish were splashin within about 10ft a ma fly but they wudna take! all looked pretty small, ones a got gd look at were lucky if 4-5 lbs, still no fish but gd day, oh aye caught anotha sleazy rainbow it kenmore sunday that a few in last 2 weeks, shows u how many there is if am catchin, really shockin they in there

It(perseverance) ammounts to alot on the Tummel, Scotty. Come back in the spring or early summer, that's the real time for Portnacraig. Innes

spring n early summer? weird intit, the earn, river a mostly fished is back end eh, yet the tummel is an early river? am a rite? hows this? maybe gonna c if smokiesalmon is up for the earn few times afore he away bac tae sea again, heard this is best time 2 hit it from ere on in

Yes, the Tummel is really a spring river with the benefit of grilse if there is a strong run. Our largest fish, 25.5lbs, came in January this year but the peak is mid-March to mid-June, depending on the water levels and temperature. 2800 or so spring fish ran through this year. Innes

Sounds like u had a good day scotty, at least if ur seein fish u've got a bitty hope. I had a day there in June and was standin on the same rock as ur picture; fish jumpin over ma line and all but they wouldny look at feck all.
Lookin forward to geein it a bash next spring hopefully.

frustratin eh, a liked portnacraig wud def go bac, will make sure a there nxt year, march/june. does the tummel not hav a whack of autumn fish which run? also have never walked further up the ladder from the viewing window is there more 2 see salmon wise? can u use the worm at anytime of year on portnacraig P.S Blondie in the portnacraig inn is also a cracker
