SUMMARY OF 2006 SEASON.
The seasons Salmon returns recorded on FishTweed of 9,940 are lower than those of 2005 (10,674) by 734 fish. At present, the final catch figures for the year are not available, however it should be noted that the figure of 10,674 Salmon recorded on FishTweed in 2005 increased to 13,488 when all the beats finalised and submitted their returns to the Commissioners. Hopefully, the final figure for the 2006 Season will be over 12,000.
Breakdown of Salmon returns recorded on FishTweed. (2005 returns in brackets)
Spring: (Feb/May) 1630 Salmon. (1793) down 163 Summer: (Jun/Aug) 1131 Salmon. (1762) down 631 Autumn: (Sep/Nov) 7179 Salmon. (7119) up 60
A general summary of the season is that the Spring was reasonable, the Summer (due to hot sunny weather and low river levels) was awful, and the Autumn good.

As stated when the Returns from the tributaries are in, it will show..... The Tweed has it right!
Just hope the River remains well managed and healthy. An hour spent there is an hour spent happily. Keep it all up.
