Burts in Melrose would be a good place to stay. The food is top notch. Have eaten there on a few occasions and not had a poor meal yet. www.burtshotel.co.uk/

Now lads you should really have said that the accommodation is in connection with SALMON fishing on the upper Tweed we don't want old pisstakesalmon spitting his dummy out again.

Both Burts and The Town House are owned by the same people and the food and hospitality are great but perhaps don't quite fit in the value for brass stakes, try Braidwood or Dunfermline guest houses about £40 a night then eat and booze at Burts, food is great in the bar and the Taylors Landlord gos down a treat, atmosphere is right up there as thats where most of the Salmon fishers gather of an evening.See you there in November,Pedro.

Hi I will be fishing diffrent beats doing the week on the Lower and Upper river, so it dosent matter that much where we stay. We will be driving a lot anyway. Just need a Hotel or b&b, where you get value for the money. Im there for the fishing not sleeping

If your upper and lower then the Ednam house hotel in Kelso might be worth a crack. Comfortable, food's fine and at this time of year, with darkness setting in at 6.30pm ish - back to the bar for some banter with other rods likely staying there. They're wine list isn't too bad either.
