Canoes

???Last saturday on an upper tay beat i had about twenty kids accompanied by two adults come rushing down the river towards me some of the kids were completely out of control and at least one of them was out of his canoe and floating down with the current dragging his feet through the best lies as he passed by quickly followed by his paddle.Yesterday, fishing the same beat and preparing to come through the same pool i was again given the fright of my life as when i was following through with a nice cast i caught out of the corner of my eye a canoe , there was nothing i could do the fly( luckily ?) just missed the two people aboard . Five minutes later i was again passed by a group of around fifteen canoeists who came through without any consideration for their or my safety and without any warning or agreement on the best way to proceed . I know that other people have the right to use the river and it looks like the canoes are more likely to increase in number rather than decrease but surely something has to be done to prevent this sort of selfish and clearly unsafe use of the river. I would welcome any ideas.
Ps thanks for the welcome

hi hardygem, i have also had problems on the upper tay with canoes, just no considerstion for anglers just rush through the pools splashing and so on, as you say we are all entitled to use the river but just a wee bit thought for others please. on the spey in june a group of canoes stopped above me and the leader of them asked me what way i would prefer them to come through the pool, they gentley past me from behind no problems . so they are not all the same but it takes just one to spoil it all. cheers scotty.
