after another thread discussing the levy on the spey,i would like to discus the levy on the allan water, where the estuary is the river forth .levy £.40 a lb .but the upper areas of the allan water,in perth and kinross the levy is i think "£1.40 a lb.this is outrageous.we need a bit of stability, now i believe in the scottish system but some boards are ripping the piss,as has been proved by the spey thread.if the boards don't get their act together then they are history.mark my words. jim twaddles the name.

The Spey also has 2 rates 1 for upper and the other lower proprietors. Nothing has been proved in the Spey thread. What makes you think the boards are "ripping the piss" I assume that means overcharging? The Spey Board raised £437053 in the 2004-2005year 92% was from the assessments the other 8% was from project funding. This was spent on Hatcheries, Fishery Protection, Admin, Research etc. A lot of people spend a great deal of their time working for the boards for nothing. If the boards are replaced by a goverment body, the salmon and the anglers will be the loosers.
