hi guys, yesterday the river was running 99% perfect we lost fish had follows but none on the bank, others did though. so this morning up at 5.30 and on the river at first light only to find that one wee poxy shower of rain has totaly buggered it but the main problem is the farmers ploughing the fields, the water just runs straight off them and into the river even up towards the top of the river it was manking, and it just got dirtier and dirtier as the day went on, the height is perfect just the colour, so now im on the stella drowning myself until next year scott

You will find if you knew anything about water tables that it has got nothing to do with farmers ploughing their land. I think what you will find is that if a field has been ploughed it will actually hold more water than a field that has not been ploughed. If the water table is at the max, then water can do nothing else but run off into streams, rivers etc.

i dont know what it is,but the dirty water has taken longer to clear, and any spates havent lasted long either,up a good height 1 day and crashing the next, although water is holding better now for obvious reasons,as i say cant remember a season when the colour has held so long, the water does nt seem to go that nice dark beer colour, like it used to,just been mucky
