Can you post a pic of them Col? The GP is a great fly, it can be modified superbly and is every much as good as more recent Ally's Shrimps. They look and fish a treat.

That is a very kind offer. I've PM'd you. I really like GP variants, as they just look so fishy to me, and you don't have that eternal conundrum of long tails misbehaving as on the Ally's shrimps. And yes, I've tried all the tricks like a dab of glue or similar! I also feel more at peace fishing a GP as it performed very well on the first day I ever succeeded at Salmon fly-fishing, on the River Moy in Ireland.

a small nylon loop at the tail stops it wrapping around-tied so the loop is horizontal
