Colin,Jimthefish,Altmor & anyone else. The Monteviot beat is a good beat with eight named pools and some very good runs. It mostly open water with very obstacles. It is however difficult to get a rod on it in Oct & Nov. There is a cottage sleeping six, with six rods that can be rented and is usually fully booked these months. If the six rods are not all taken with the cottage then the remainder are available as day tickets The day tickets for salmon are approx. £40. There is also some good trout & grayling fishing. If you would like to know more let me know and I'll assist if I can
