...in the close season I amuse myself with a bit of grayling fishing. I was up at the Isla not catching some last week but I have been told by a ghillie (who believes their stories eh?) that the big ones in the Tay system were caught around the Stanley area. He mentioned the mill actually. So any Tay ghillies got grayling on their beats? My work always seems to be busy from the summer to season's end so my period to get fishing is from now until mid April.

There are always a lot of grayling fishers around the Mill when i'm there in late February. I've never actually seen them catch anything though, apart from the bottom quite a lot.

I know that the Earn can be very good for grayling in and around Kinkell bridge given the right conditions.

Stanley mill is a well known grayling spot although dont know about large grayling, the tay downstream from caputh bridge is where i have seen the largest grayling.

I've seen a strong turn out of fisherman after Grayling at Dalguise in the spring; it certainly looks like good grayling water. Fishing the Earn would make finding them easier.

The Earn at Kinkell has a good greyling catch - call Sandy (details on web under Kinkell Fishings) - he'll let you know what's available.

I have fished at Kinkell Bridge a couple of times and have some drayling to my credit there. I was just interested in some less popular waters. i always like to try new places and explore a bit more of the Tay.
