If you are looking for a fast sinking spey line then try: www.reelsndeals.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Lochmor_Salmon_Fly_Lines_307.htmlThe fast sinker is quoted up to 5" per sec and the sinker up to 3" per sec. I have not fished with them in anger yet just tried them out in the river to see how they handle. They cast well enough with a roll and spey cast and will do for the rare occasions I need them. Only £19.99

Cheers for the suggestions fellows, getting well into my armchair closed season fishing through the catalogues. I still feel a proper quick sinker can save a lot of disappointment on the many northern fly-only rivers. It makes me smile when folk say, ..."too coloured for the fly, it's a washout!". It rarely is . I suppose it all depends whether you have the luxury of choosing your days, which I don't, so I'll happily give it some all day with the big rod at 3'+ on a good River.

I have been using a Snowbee Scandinavian spey line, its more of a shooting head with a head length of 44'. The 11-12 is 48g and 5.60ips. Im not that technical but it is a nice line to cast, the thinner running line takes some getting used to though.
