Can anyone point me in the direction of a retailer for T14 or similiar. I am looking for about 50ft to make a couple of shooting heads for pelagics in Australia.

Sent a post about 10 mins ago Sagefly - but doesn't seem to have got here, so here we go again. Try the Glasgow Angling Centre on 0141 331 6330 or through their web, type "fishingmegastore" into google. They carry a large stock, and have a good mail order service, and I find, if they don't have something in stock, they can get it pretty quickly.
I telephoned them about 6.00pm this evening to enquire - but they must be shut for the night.

sagefly, T-14 is level and will not make for a good shooting head on its own.. It will be fine as the sinking tip.
If you need something down and dirty, there are a lot of airflo depthfinder tungsten shooting heads on ebay at the moment, with weights from 200 to 700 grains. They are selling for £11 ea.. I find them excellent.

Happy to oblige Sagefly, but it looks like Tynetraveller knows his stuff on this one, perhaps worth looking into before an (expensive) purchase is made.

Altmoor, thanks for the offer but have sot a 500ft spool coming from the states.
Once I get the final bill I will have about 150ft spare if anybody want to make up some supr fast sinking tips.
Price will be per foot plus postage, dont know how much that will be at depends on the HMRC etc.
Tynetraveller, I have considered the turnover issue and in rivers would be an issue, in the ocean there is so much other "noise" that the presentation is not that critical.
Thanks once again for all your help.

Hi Sagefly- I wish you well with it- Let us know how you get on. I fear the turnover issue could be so bad that you may lose distance as well as delicacy.I know that Rio's experiments with T-14 as a sink-tip with Skagit heads proved that tapered big boy leaders turned over far more readily in lengths longer than 10ft.
