Call me a sceptic but I'd need some convincing that the Carron trout lines are worth that sort of money when compared to other products on the market. The Salmon lines do seem, anecdotedly, very impressive but £50 for a trout fly line - come on!!! You could have 2 Mastery GPX lines for that sort of money (if you look in the right places). Anyone know if the Carron lines will be available for "test" at the 2007 Trout and Salmon Tweed Angling Fair at Kelso? www.tweedanglingfair.co.uk I know they're there as exhibitors, but I'd like to try out a £50 trout fly line and be proved that I'm a just a cheapskate ;D

Dear Hamish,
Our full range of Carron Rods and Jetstream lines, both Spey and Trout, are available to try at all the shows and venues we attend throughout the year. However, I notice that you hail from Aberdeenshire - not too far from us! Could we manage to help you before April? Just send me your contact details and I will try to arrange something for you.

Gwyneth, By heck, that was quick I'll email you later today, and thank you for the offer - off the top of my head I can think of only one other manufacturer who would be willing to arrange something for a test. Thanks!

i do more trout than salmon fishing and love the feel of a top floating line shooting through the rings up wind of the last rise (roll on spring) and normally wear out a cortland lazer LS or a wonderline each year in the same prise range but i know what I'm getting for my money. also i notice the IG range does trout lines has anyone had experience of these? the way i see it is if they can make top salmon lines a trout line must be equally good?
