To toil away the hours till the start of the season, I've come up with a few anagrams - easy ones to start with - and feel free to post some yourselves. The only rule being they must have a "fishy" connotation :
1. SAY YER CENT STEP 2. AM SINK LONG 3. PRE RINGS 4. DULL YET BIC 5. CREASY STEP 6. NEW GIN U ILL
Just post your answers with the same numbers along side - the clue's in the signature.
RAT MOL.

Here's another couple - a tad harder as we go along !
1. VERY PERIS 2. DEAR HOVE
For those of you who doubt the word peris, it does exist and is derived from Persian Mythology meaning a beautiful, supernatural being, often of a devilish kind.
There's loads more - so start guessing.

Well Altmor, I'm back in work today and sorely in need of some mental exercise to get the old brain working again!
2 = KING SALMON 3 = SPRINGER
2 OVERHAND
You can see I picked the easy ones. ;D

Not a bad start Elwyman - (sorry to hear your're back at work - mind I'm back tomorrow), you're on the right line with my first post, No 3, ie Springer - the rest of them are names from this forum. (the clue was in my first signature). A bit of shuffling needed for your answer to No 2, and you'll have another forum member.
Re answer No 2 - you're close again, but you'll notice there's no "N" in the anagram.
Keep trying - and the old grey matter, which if anything like mine (took a bit of a hammering this X-mas), it'll soon be back in top gear !!

img409.imageshack.us/img409/5926/dsc00080os5.jpgHi Alan, The avatar shows my best mate "Jack". He's the one on the left in the above link, looking focused and attentive. As you'll see, I also have a female dog (originally typed the correct word for female dog - but must be Colin's censor button erased it) , "Rosie", and again from the link, you'll notice, not paying much attention !! (Is that just a woman thing ? ... sorry YE). Great companions on the river - always want to be in on the action, and although trained to the gun, I think Jack prefers to fish - just like me. Cheers, Altmor

Good one YAWN MEL ( ;D ;D)
Me thinks it's going to be up to you and ... maybe WG, whom I've sussed likes a word game or two, to guess the rest. Here's another to keep you going :
1. ASH HANDS TOM ATOM
and that leaves from previous posts the following :
2. DULL YET BIC 3. VERY PERIS 4. UK ALDER BREW CAN
Come on the rest of you - you'll thank me for getting the grey matter going before we're all back to work !!

1. ASH HANDS TOM ATOM 2. DULL YET BIC 3. VERY PERIS 4. UK ALDER BREW CAN Okay - I cant bear the thought of you all pulling your hair out - (Guad, where's WG when you need him ;D). Here's the clues then : 1. A famous rod maker from across the water. 2. Glasgow was renowned for it's ships. 3. A river WG would feel at home on. 4. Another famous rod maker, this time British. Right, get these and I'll post a few more ... WG, PICK UP YER MODEM, the forum's asleep !!

I cannot do anagrams I have a number mind rather than letters. I was forced south again today.
But your clues make them too easy.

Cracking looking lab Alan - sorry to read you lost him last summer. Was he gun trained ? I'll see if there's some more pics of Jack "the black prince of darkness" to post up.
