After much deliberation, my fishing partner and I decided to drop our 3 days on Boleside in May and try somewhere else. When I fished Boleside in 2005 it was £50/day, for 2007 it's £80 + vat for fairly average spring fishing. Apart from the cost, I found the fly water was rather limited in low water.
Just booked 3 days on Craigellachie (Spey) and 2 days on East Haugh (Tummel), w/c 9 April. Both lovely looking beats, and about half the price of Boleside.
Guess I'll need to practice my left hand up single spey then!
Never fished Tummel, and my only experience on the Spey was a drought ridden late August week at Grantown in the 90s. Don't expect to catch loads of fish, but I'm really looking forward to fishing some new water.
PS - Malcom - I just noticed that the Fishspey site is still showing 2 rods available at Craigellachie on 9-11 April, I think I booked the last 2?

You'll like the Tummel - it's deceptively fast though so watch the wading. It might mean you may also need to go down a line ie from an intermediate to a sink or even wet II, as some of the pools are also deceptively deep. Should do well in April, and don't worry if you don't see any - they keep down when running there.

Thanks for the advice Altmor - perhaps I should invest in that life jacket I've been thinking about getting, particularly as I'll be fishing the Tummel on Friday 13th! ;D
