Hi All
It is our silver anniversary this year & my wife has told me I can have any salmon rod of my choice to commemorate it
Probably a 15ft
I am relatively new to salmon fishing but have read all the reports re B & W, Sage, Hardy etc
What would the forum recommend (very average caster)
Thanks in anticipation
Cheers
Graeme

I would avoid both Sage and Hardy as they are prone to breakage.
Go for a good British made rod. What budget are we talking?

Hi Sloggi, How do I go about that?
Hi Willie, I dont know, as she says any rod, so any rod it would be, but I would not want her to pay any more than £850
Thanks
Cheers

There is also Clan - just google "clan fishing rods" and you'll find it. Simpsons also build rods mainly on Sage blanks. You could also google "hand-built fishing rods UK" which would be of help. I had some dealings with Carron only yesterday and they were most helpful - I'm sure they would build a rod to meet your every need Lucky man to have such an understanding wife with deep pockets
