I don't know if you have this species in your Salmon rivers but I'm guessing not. There have been a couple of posts on other boards and now a CBC article. Basically the Didymosphenia geminata form of algae has been found in the Matapedia. This specific form tends to clog river bottoms and damage the resource. I came across this myself and brought this up to local anglers last year after nearly wiping out above Heppel Bridge. www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswick/story/2007/01/08/nb-rocksnot.htmlwww.flyfishingforum.com/flytalk4/showthread.php?t=24479Short of it is travelling anglers will want to decontaminate before and after arrival from Gaspe rivers, especially the Matapedia, to prevent the spread. I'm sure you'll have to decontaminate between rivers in Gaspe as well. -Chris
