Thank you Graham.
Not sure if i'll be attempting to tie that one given my tying skills - lovely looking creation though. Might try and simplify it a little.
Anyone with a snap of a more simple one?

The PBP Hornet looks very similar to the Flame Thrower pattern.

This is where we start getting confused! I thought it looked like a flamethrower too, what's the difference?

Not a bad idea.
Who on the forum could try and tie a yellow / black & black / yellow variation. You never know it could be a killer for this season LOL.

Having watched the Mighty Reds slaughter Those Who Must Not Be named - get in there ;D - I sat down and collated the results from this short survey. In reverse order, the top six patterns as agreed by this forum are: drum roll 6. With 5 votes - Ness C 5. With 9 votes* - variations on Ally's Shrimp 4. With 9 votes - Pot Bellied Pig 3. With 10 votes - Willie Gunn 2. With 11 Votes - Silver Stoat And first, with 12 votes - Cascade (* in 5th place due to 6 variations)

I think the results aren't overly surprising really! The ness c interests me, i've never fished with one, will need to tie a few up

It's interesting that the Cascade has become so successful in such a short period, and that the Willie Gunn remains so popular. And what about the wee Silver Stoat - simplicity and versatility The Ness C is also growing in popularity and when it hits the mainstream market, it will, I believe, climb the list to no.2 Only one conehead was noted (Ally's) and I think, in time, this style of fly will produce one or two distinct patterns that catch on. Four of the six are fairly recent patterns - I wonder what would have been in the top six 30 years ago? And I wonder what will be there in 30 years time
