Sloggi my reply is sponsored by the GAC....so it's late!
1. PBP 2. Cascade 3. Allys Shrimp 4. Silver Stoat 5. Stoats Tail 6. Black & Yellow tube
Last season I only used 3 of the 6 patterns. 1, 2 and 6.

Another late arrival..
1. Eternal optimist tube (springtime) 2. Greenhighlander tube (springtime) 3. Cascade (late spring through summer) 4. sunray Shadow ( a must anytime) 5. Phatagorva variant (all year) 6. black templedog variants (all year)
I like my flies to have a lot of moment and thus most have long wings. I don't tend to stick to many traditional patterns and most are variants of known patterns often done in a more simplistic manner.

Thanks Sloggi.
No real surprises there - I must try a silver stoat more often, given its popularity. I use them for sea trout but not much for salmon, although I am aware of their reputation for summer grilse.
I think the Ness C has probably sneaked in because a lot of the guys live & fish in NE Scotland.
I thought the temple dog would have got more votes, but I guess many people just see it as a tying style, rather than a distinct pattern?

Hi Sloggi, Just seen your post sorry. I mainly use a silver cone head but have recently tied some with the brass version and have caught on them too (I don't really think it matters to much ). Gary

Yeh, its certainly worked for me on the Annan. I noticed the site was down too Elwyman, I have not heard anything from up there, so I hope everything is ok. That site is a cracking resource for myself and many others . Gary

Hi Sloggi, Just seen your post sorry. I mainly use a silver cone head but have recently tied some with the brass version and have caught on them too (I don't really think it matters to much ). Gary I seem to have a mental block with the silver conehead - just can't stop myself using the gold version. Somehow orange and yellow go better with gold Rubbish of course - silver is probably just as good.
