It is good to see so many new members signing up for this forum. Keep up the good work in keeping this forum one of the top forums. I think it is one of the best going.

Quite agree, why so many new members and not many new posts? Everyone must have a story or two to share with fellow members

Having a suge in membership is good and I guess people will contribute when they have something to say. The recent thread on "6 Flies for the Season" was really interesting and something everyone could contribute to. I was so interested that I collated the results of the un-scientific poll and posted the result

i'd agree with crawfish on this one. I joined this forum ages ago but didn't post much at the start. There are so many members on here that know salmon fishing inside out that sometimes it's a bit daunting posting advice or opinions. to any new members reading this, don't be scared! I've learned more on here in a few short weeks than i have from anywhere else.

I joined the forum at the turn of the year and think it is just fantastic.
A wealth of knowledge and friendly advice from guys up and down the country with one common goal which is to continually learn how to fly fish for salmon.
It took me a good few days just to go through all the previous posts and topics, which should be as already mentioned built on with this seasons efforts.
I for one hope to add too this.
Cheers

I am a new member too and am learning useful stuff just from hanging about and reading the opinions and thoughts of the more experienced members..
Hopefully I will have something to post soon (a first fish, for instance....)

Look forward to seeing your first fish Duncanm, let's hope it's a clean bar of silver for you. Remember if you need to know anything - just ask. I've been fishing for salmo for near on 25 years, it took me 8 years to land one (Robert the Bruce theory), yet I'm still learning, both from when I'm out fishing and latterly when I'm on this forum. We'll all still be learning till the day we die - that's my view, so don't be intimidated by the "just started theory", nor by the percieved experts, who still have a lot to learn in the years ahead of them. It's better to learn from the mistakes of others than to make your own.

Everyone in salmon fishing is learning every day.Like life itself,if a day goes by that you don't learn something,it's a day wasted.. The only way to learn is to ask, rarely is information volunteered. All of us "older hands" are more than happy to advise and none of us know it all,we will tell you what we think, based on what we know as individuals,it's the only way we know. There is no such thing as a silly question. Ask away please.

I am a new member and think the forum is great. I think it takes a few visits to get a feel for the forum and how it works. Have now put a few comments in.

I'm a new member and still trying to find my way round the forum as well as this bloody computer. Its a pain when you push the wrong button and you've got to get your son to sort it out. Will continue contributing to this forum even if it is just jibberish.
All the best AA
