I'm booking myself a week away in Europe just to get away from it all in the first week of June. I have to be in Amsterdam by the end of the week so i'm wondering, is there any decent fishing in Holland? I'd love to hook a salmon in another country (or even in Scotland!) but i don't know anything about salmon in Holland, if indeed there are any! I'm going on my own so can pretty much travel anyehere aroubnd holland and the surrounding countries. any advice welcome and appreciated.

Read an article in one magazine last year about fantastic salt-water fishing for sea-trout.Can't remember exactly where..possibly Denmark?...or somewhere in the Baltic?

I've heard the Dutch go fly fishing for pike on the canals, and I believe it is very good. They must go eel fishing as well because last time I went to Amsterdam everywhere seemed to sell jellied eels - yuck!! The Baltic is very good for sea trout - like most things, local knowledge seems to help (ie finding hotspots): seatroutfishing.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=denamrk
