With the new season just started, it's worth while checking your insurance provision for time out on the water and stored rods in cars etc.
I've just checked and do have good cover under my home contents policy. I sat down and estimated up a typical fishing outing in the way of tackle, equipment, rods, reels, flies etc and it's close on to a staggering £2K, mostly sitting in the car, when I'm on the water.
Fortunately I have "Avitar Jack" and his niece Rosie sleeping in the car when I'm away, and they act as a pretty good deterrent for would be opportunists. Saying that they're out on the bank with me during the day, so the car is vulnerable, even if under lock and key.
And no I'm not in insurance sales, so please don't pm me looking for a quick quote - just thought I'd remind some or most of us, particularly the new comers to the sport - better safe than sorry.
