Hi just joined this forum, as my name suggests i spend a lot of my time trolling mainly in Loch Lomond where we get a few Salmon but most of my fishing is for Ferox, I do some flyfishing on the Endrick at the back end.
I hope you dont mind a troller being on the forum.

Welcome to the board. I've yet to see any posts about trolling, but being local to the area, I know what a tradition it is on Lomond.

Trolling for ferox sounds very interesting, do you ever hook any Salmon whilst fishing for the ferox on Lomond?

We hook the occasional one, hooking them is one thing , landing them is another we lost one of approx 12lbs in Net Bay this year although we did get a grilse in 35 ft of water 25 ft down just off the Endrick bank one year.
We tend to stay in the deeper water away from the traditional salmon trollers, there are some cracking trout out there its just a matter of finding the buggers.

Welcome James, I am also a troller (and Fly fisher) on The Big Loch. My username may have given you a clue about this. I haven't put any posts on yet about trolling as the forums seems to focus on fly fishing on rivers. As there is more than one troller on the forum I may put some posts about it on. I have been on your website about trolling which is excellent.

Lomond, I'm probably never going to go trolling (not many lochs in Somerset) but I would be interested in reading about it. It might not be everybodies cup of tea but it's still salmon fishing.
