I was thinking earlier if anyone has a killer fly that they keep the pattern secret or as gentlemen we are only too happy to share any advantage we think we have over other anglers.Being quite new to salmon fishing it was like a breath of fresh air when turning up on beats to be shown fly boxes offered advice encouraged to have the first run down the pool. Before I started fishing for salar i did a lot of trout competition fishing and some of the things I seen would make you cringe.Just thought I would share my thoughts that what a right friendly bunch you are. Watch out for the Elwyman Vibro Disc Conehead Pot Belly Pig, coming to a tackle shop near you for the bargain price of £9.99 per fly.
See the article in next month's T&S magazine, with lots of glossy photos and a step by step tying guide by a well known Swedish fisherman and entrepreneur.
Guaranteed to catch tackle tarts! ;D

Sometimes it pays to just be a little inaccurate about where you actually got that last fish from though Sometimes I have an awful memory for pool names!

Looking forward to seeing it in T&S nonetheless, sounds as if it's got ALL the right ingredients ...

Alan, The first springer caught on Kercock was on a Black Dart, which is basically orange ! One of the first fish off the South Esk was also caught on a Black Dart ! ! Could this be the spring fly of '07 I ask myself. How hot is that.

I'm fairly confident the South Esk is not yet open for fishing..........If someone had a fish, they could be in trouble!! Opens on the 16th. Has Dave been telling you porkies, Dennis?
