Hi Guy's, Just wanted to let you all know i am going to run a couple of trips to British Columbia Salmon fishing later this year.  If anyone is interested you could send me a PM, there is direct flight from Glasgow and all other UK airports and i will sort out all the rest, airport pick up, accomodation, guide, jet boat, BEER. The guide i have fished with loads of times and he's the best in the Fraser Valley. So if anyone fancies the idea of a trip please send me a PM. Thanks Gordon. Hi Guys, I will post the details on Monday, could do something like fly into Calgary have a day or two dry fly fishing on the Bow river fish for wild rainbows then through the Rockies with a stop off for a day on the Shuswap river, and then 6 days Salmon on the Harrison, jet boat the works, and home from Vancouver back in the UK in the morning, this is a ten day trip i did in Oct. Another option would be to fly into Calgary and then west jet to Kelowna (1hr flight), a couple of days fishing in the Okanagan valley for trout, then through the Fraser Valley to fish the Harrison for a week. I have decided after a couple of years fishing on Vancouver Island, not to do a trip there, the fish numbers have been really slow the last two years. I will post all the options on Monday, so this is just a couple of options i have been looking at. Johhny i think the cost will be around £1800.00 with flights, but will know by Monday, and will post then. Thanks Gordon.  |

a good fishing trip you should enjoy, but you really should avoid the pinks as they do spoil the fishing for kings, silvers, reds, steelhead, just to damm many of them, and they run every 3rd year,

ahh written!! what ive read about our waters usually has been written by a visitor
some parts are true , example our kenai river gets pinks every othere 2nd year but the larger return falls on the 3rd year were its neighboring kasilof river misses a year and has a return on the 5th year and as we sit awaiting the return of the pest they dont show at all,
all im saying is on a nice creek were you can normally cast a fly and have a pleasant days fishing you can end up moving pinks out of your way with your rod tip just to wade never mind hope to catch a nice fish, you will have tight lines no matter were you fish so enjoy.

Guys, I know this is a pink year every odd year is a pink year (2007 2009 ect), not to worried about that, timing is everything. I have been fishing in BC 17 times in the last 4 years, and away again next month, i usually go for 6 to 8 weeks at a time and fish all over the place, thats why i am waiting to speak to Rick, see if i can pick the best week, and hope its not as dry this year as it was last year. The package i'm working on will have a day or two dry fly fishing the Bow and shuswap rivers for rainbows and a drive through the Rockies, walk and wade, with then a week fishing the Fraser tribs with jet boat (no combat stuff) so not all Salmon, this way you can fly direct into Calgary and 10 days later out of Vancouver and back to Glasgow in the Morning. Anyway i will post all the detail later this week, if you've ever had the drive through the Rockies you know what its like. Gordon. |

yes gordon a beautifull place i drove the alaskan highway unbelievable sights ask your guide about summer run steelhead worth fishing for, great fighters, enjoy your trip.

Hi Guy's ,
Just waiting on some more info for the trip (missing out the pinks) accomodation, ect.
Will post the full details soon as i can, also going to miss out on the Calgary Stampede when fishing the Bow, accomodation prices seem to go through the roof that 10 days.
Will post it all later this week.
