Been gazzumped from the Dee in April and looking to replace 3 days fishing.Hard act to follow I know but there we go,fancied the Tummel but cant get on if any one knows different,Tweed sounds good and is hard to resist but its a bit borderish and low land but not out of the question, would prefer a more traditional spring river if you get my angle, thinking about the Don not been there before or the Esks(North and South).Know the Tay system has some good bits available but fish there in September again not out of the hat but looking to broaden horizons a bit, even considering the Tyne (dont mean that as if I have to just dont know where to get on there and would prefer Scotland).Criterea? fly preferably, not too distant (Thurso) and £100 a day tops not worried about catch and release being an issue, happy to catch one then wave it on its way.I suppose with my fishing chances being a bit hard to come by these days just trying to give myself a good chance. Pedro.

If you fancy the River Don try Castle Forbes Beats nice fly water peace and quiet and a good chance of a fish or two. The trout fishing will also give a bit of variety. Have a look on FISHDON site still rods for April.

Pedro,
Both Strathcathro & Upper Kinnaird( S.Esk) are fully booked in April & in any event, knowing you I think you would find the latter river a bit on the small side.
Let me know what dates in April you can manage & I will ask my contact if there is any chance of getting you on his Beat of the Tummel. April is one of the best spring months but I can but try.
