We have had threads about the best beat of the rivers we have fished. What about the worst beats and why. Tell us all the beats to avoid and why

I must be lucky, can't think of any worst beat to report.
I can think of some Association waters that are over rodded, over fished and short of fish, but I avoid them nowadays. I was once advised to avoid Royal Four Towns on the Annan for these reasons.

And very good advice that was, this should explain why: "Anglers should note that due to a historic act of parliment dating back to King Robert The Bruce, the residents of The Royal Four Towns have fishing rights on this stretch of the river, which can result in the last two months of the season being very busy." This is on the fishannan website.

Sad to say, but thought the Cardrona Water / Peebles (Association) was poor - not for the scenery nor some fine glides that did produce fish - but for the obvious and blatant "jigging" witnessed on the opposite bank.
4 to a pool, casting up stream, the "heavy" line landing with a splash, and an almighty heave when the line had swung round to almost 90degs to the river.
The river bailiff was at the car park, but didn't seem too interested in these activities a few pools up river, nor was he that bothered by an obvious "lead core line" being dragged vertically from a rod tip, perched over a shoulder as it walked right passed him on the way to the water.
This was November on the Tweed - not a pretty sight.
