I have a Ian Gordon spey line with a 75 foot head, the head is to long so what i wondering if i cut the head down would this ruin the line or should i buy another one. Would be gratefull to anyone with any thoughts on this cheers.

No, don't cut it, you'll ruin the line.
try offering it for sale or swap on here, or sell it on ebay.

Buy a shorter one until your able to utilise the 75' then just cast n' swing

I would advise not to cut. I know others do but this is to allow the turning over of polyleaders.
Can you really not cast with it? Most rods will load well enough with less than 40' of a 75' head out through the top ring, assuming you have the correct line weight for the rod. If you can't cast it then go for a shorter head length line that will load the rod to allow you to cast, but don't cut the line, keep it for when you can use it.

Sell it [e-bay or via this or other forum] - if it is in good condition, with tin etc, you should get £20 - £25 for it - put this towards a new short head version [65' head] £39.99 new.

cheers lads confirms what i thought its not that i carnt cast it, it's that the rivers i'll be fishing now don't require as much line to be cast, thanks for advise.
