Well done Gordon. James Chalmers is the only man on the casting circuit who is as old as the distance he casts.

Well done Gordon. James Chalmers is the only man on the casting circuit who is as old as the distance he casts. Praise indeed to a weegie from WG. Congratulations Gordon. Well done Gerard and James. James, if it is not too personal how many yards old are you? PM me if you wish ;D

Excuse my total ignorance but was this competition held in Los Angeles or Logialmond - its just that I have heard locals in west perthshire refer to Logiealmond as L.A. Anyhow - sincere congratulations to all winners regardless of where it was held.

Thanks elwyman - I guess my geography isn't all that its cracked up to be. Dully informed and suitably embarrassed.

With 60yd casts needed to make the final I wonder how many are now casting over 55yds and not getting a mention. To think 4yrs ago 55yds would win you things. So what has changed in the last 4 years - tackle or casting technique, or is Gordon sponsored by Iron Bru?

Well done James, a fantastic achievement for the Carron team. Must have been quite a spectacle and for Gordon to break the world record was just the icing on the cake.
I look forward to my next lesson but have yet to cast the full 75' head line into wind, therefore it may well be some time yet.
Great result and I look foward to many more in the future.

Just catching up on my threads. FANTASTIC EFFORT FROM THE CARRON BOYS ! Well done Gordon and James. Congratulations on a remarkable achievement Gordon. Awsome performance. Old man Speyvalley does well again when the conditions in the final are difficult. Must be all that extra experience James
