Hi guys, Thought I would share this one with you. It's a painting a friend commissioned of his PB - a 42 pounder. I've done a few of these trophy paintings now, life sized and in oil. Personally I think that this captures more of the spirit of the fish than skin mounts or carvings, certainly the ones that I've seen anyway, but I'll let you be the judge of that! The paint is still drying, but once it has I'll get a better photo. Cheers, Lawrence

That's a great painting Lawrence, very lifelike. Done from a photo?
Which river was it caught from?

Superb painting and I agree with your sentiments regarding the various art forms. I wish I had such talent for painting.

Thanks guys. Yes, it was done from a photo, albeit a very poor quality one. The photos of the original fish tend to be good for getting the general jist of the fish - its colouration and shape, but, unless the original photo is very good quality, I have to use a selection of decent quality photos to get the details right.

Lawrence that painting is fecking brilliant, cant wait to see it for real. If I ever manage to break my PB will I get mates rates or can I just pay in turbo cones ??
