A show of hands please. I have the opportunity to get on a good low water beat on Tweed during summer, dates to be confirmed but a degree of flexibility.
How many of you would like or know someone who would like to:-
a) Fish the Tweed at a reasonable cost
b) Have the opportunity of fishing with the services of an experienced boatman and also an experienced spey casting instructor.
I am thinking of aiming the week at beginner/intermediate fishers and splitting the week in 2 lots of 3 days for 6 rods. 3 rods fishing 3 rods getting lessons or similiar.
The beat in question is below the Till and as such get pretty good sea trout numbers depending on water. The beat also has a 2 fishing shiels one of which has been converted to a good standard.
Give me an idea of what you would consider reasonable in terms of cost, facilities, fishing time catering etc.

sagefly....nice thought but during the summer months surely the tay has to be the choice....purely on catch stats and price?.....who wants to fish prime tweed beats at the wrong time?...

The idea is to have a more instruction oriented time with the chance to get a fish rather than nailed on fish and a bit of instruction.
No point fishing the "prime" Tweed beats in summer they all need water to work.
Unless we get a bit of decent rain soon the summer will be a dry out on the Tweed it is already below summer levels.
I will get more details up shortly.
Thanks for the PMs so far.
