My first salmon

On my 21st day of Salmon fishing... (and not counting two kelts) I got it last Wednesday, on the Carron in Sutherland. 5lb, not quite a complete bar of silver, but a fine fish.... and it tasted excellent.

On Saturday morning I had my second, probably 8-9 lbs (which was played by my fishing partner - how generous was that?) and returned safely.

And on Saturday afternoon (having watched the river rise 12 inches in as many minutes) I landed a fine fat 2lb seatrout, again returned safely.

All three caught on 1" plastic unweighted tubes that left a nice v-wake on the water.

Also several pulls including a truly vicious pull that could have broken a wrist, and a very exciting pull where I watched the fish come up to the floating fly.


Back in the office now.... ugh.

what a good day you must of had i am still trying to catch my first bar of silver i did have a nice brown trout on the don last week 2 pounds plus on a yellow ally witch i tyed my self.
