All, Just saw in last fridays Irish Times that the first cheques have been posted out to the driftnetters as part of their compensation/buyout. Also hearing that the average stamp of grilse is higher this year on rivers over here e.g. Drowes, even though runs are late. Looks like a difference is being made already Whitetrout

good news that things are progressing, the last thing that was needed was for the payments to be delayed and netters to walk out on the deal Re the size and numbers of fish - the evidence is certainly promising but I think its too early to say if there is a direct link between the removal of the nets and the fish. I think the good water has also had an impact. time will tell
