Going to fish Dalraoch on the river Stinchar on Friday. Anyone know anything about it?

Only fished it once, but, with a man that had fished it all his days. The order of the day seemed to be sink-tips or intermediates, with small (half inch) tubes with a red wing and jungle cock cheeks. The body of the fly did not seem to matter much. The other successful flies were the stinchar stoat, and irish shrimp style patterns when the water was thinning down.
The stinchar stoat was tied on a black esmond drury treble. No body, black squirell wing tied sparse, and an orange head hackle. The hackle should be relatively short and perpendicular to the shank of the hook.
The beat needs water, but it does hold fish, so perseverance and stealth could be the key if the water is low.
I cannot remember the names of the pools, but I definitely preferred the pools at and above the hut, to any of the water below it.

Hard to believe , but we're short of water down here in deepest Ayrshire and none forecast for the next couple of days. Keep your fingers crossed parky , otherwise follow Fruin's advice.
