Hi The Dionard? I think it is fly only? Still a stunning place up near Durness in Sutherland (http://gualin-estate.com/home.htm). The main run is in July - Sept.
NOT CHEAP!

Is it the Aberdeenshire Ythan that you mean? It needs water at the moment. They do fly, spin and worm fish in it.

One of the riggers on a ship I used to be on in the North Sea has a house on the banks of the Ythan. He has caught some beautiful big Sea Trout and Salar form his stretch and said it still get a decent run of fish weather permitting most seasons. I also believe the estuary produces some fine fish too. There was an article in one of the monthly mags a wee while ago about methods used etc and by all accounts it was good value for money. I'm sure there will be better beat info from people who live locally .

I had the chance to fish it afew years ago.... but made the wrong choice, after some heavy rain, my intented fishing was to be at Parkhill on the Don, my Bro and i decided to go to a freshwater mackeral fishery as we were informed the river was too dirty and un fishable............ Both the eythan and Don fished thjere nuts off. But hey i still managed a 10lb licer from the cothal pool on the Don on the monday

His knowledge of the rivers in that area is absolute first class.
