The River fished exceptionally well this year. I feel that with the nets gone that this river is the one to watch. Personally I landed over 20 salmon on the last Friday of the season on the fly most had sea lice and with the average size over 10 lbs. This is as good as it gets down here in Munster.

Hi guys to be fare the Suir only fishies for the last 6 weeks of the season which is the end of september from knocklofty up river it is not very productive on less you get a lot of rain i have a 4 mile stretch of bought banks about 4 miles above knocklofty which due to the heavy rain this summer fished ok but i found that most the fish where well red by the time they started to take and even do i have a lot of water in that area the river is not very fast and not suitable for the fly so you need to wait for it to clear and go prawing if that floats your boat a good sport if you have a young kid how has never had a fish like my 4 year old this year for the good salmon water you need to be well below Clonmel down to carrick on Suir i have allmost 3 miles of this fishiery and that is where i had such a good day which i posted this streach i run as prime fly water i feel as good as Ireland has to offer but fishes best only for the same 6 weeks
