I am fishing the Dee tomorrow a short distance above Little Blackhall, I may pop down and say hello when I am finished. Wont be able to make it later in the week, unfortunately tomorrow will be my last days fishing for a few weeks as I am going into hospital on Thursday for an operation on my wrist. Best of luck for your days, it looks as though the weather will favour the end rather than the start of the week. Graham, good luck with your operation, I hope that all go well. I hope that you will not be missing too much time off your fishing.

Graham just seen that Woodend had a fish today, were you the lucky person who caught it? Woodend is a very nice beat but I can't understand why it is only a 2 rod beat considering its length and it appears to be under fished. I have fished it twice and had fish both times.

Which Dee beat had a visit for a day this season from a rather well known angler who named a fly after himself, who caught two salmon and knocked both on the heid and sent the ghillie balistic ?? I heard about it today and wondered where it happened.

I reckon you're way off the mark there. More likely the fly is named after his job than himself.

Is there an article in this months T&S by the very same person and the fly that he has named after himself??
Some beats (mainly syndicates and associations) on the Dee still allow fish to killed as they have not signed upto the Dee Conservation Code so it must not be illegal to kill a fish on the Dee. Will an angler get "black listed" for killing a fish off a beat that operates a strict C&R policy? as you are supposed to give any fish that are damaged to the estate.

Think the fly would be orange and look like a shrimp.

He was practising C&R well before it was "fashionable". Seen it with my own eyes. Barbless singles, the works. That was on the Dee 5 or 6 years ago.

Seen by several pairs of eyes on the PGAA water near Perth was a very nice 12lb bar of silver and next to it was a serious kipper in a bag, both killed by(yes you have guessed it folks)orange shrimp man Five or six years ago he had just been voted on to the commitee of the Salmon and Trout Asso. hence the pretence. hence my withdrawal from same , Also on the same bit of water, himself ,being photographed releasing a grilse which,as he was posing, the grilse slipped out of his hand.OOPs,nae problem, he stood up and reeled it back in again ! got some more pics.... then chapped it on the heid ! He was bo..ood off the park and went away with a very red face .. FACT

Can't be a tying error as it has been updated from 23 to 27. Thats some fishing, they have had more this week than the 5 year average for the whole of March. Lets hope the runs have not peaked and that Lower Blackhall has a good week next week as me and Salar76 (Lawrence) will be fishing.
