I was up on the Brora on Friday and had the best days Spring fishing I am ever likely to have. I finished up landing four, loosing one and getting another take. It was great to get such quality fish with over a foot of snow on the ground. For me the cream of salmon fishing. The beat finished the week with 11 fish for the four rods. Not bad going for the beginning of March. I also heard the Helmsdale had three for the week, all taken from beats 1 and 2. The cold weather seems to be holding them back. Returning the biggest of the day. A 14lber  Perfection  |

Thats great sport by any standards and more than some people get in a season. Well done. Cracking looking fish, lets hope I get one 2 weeks tomorrow.

It was on a 1" aluminium tube version, looks really good in peat stained water.
We fished it on Saturday but never managed to land any although three were lost.

Well done Gordon, and doesn't the river look great in the snow.
Just ordered an extra warm Helly Hansen thermal vest on ebay, so I'm tempted to head north! ;D
