06/06/2006 As of Tuesday morning the river is running quite low, Light showers are forecast for Wednesday but it appears that the weather is to continue being warm and dry for the week thereafter. Now that we are into June it might be worth targeting the sea trout. A little more rain sooner rather than later could liven up prospects. www.kinkellfishings.co.uk www.scottishflies.co.uk

18/08/06The recent long dry spell that we have been experiencing has made fishing difficult of late. However with the weather is now starting to break and with rain forecast we could see some excellent sport in the next couple of weeks. For your best chance keep your eye on the weather forecast and be prepared to get out on the river quick once the river starts to clear. www.kinkellfishings.co.uk

09/09/06The recent heavy rain has allowed some fish to run in to the system and fish are starting to be caught on a regular basis however the general consensus of opinion is that the main run is still to come. With rain forecast at the start of next week it would be advisable to keep an eye on the river levels as when it does rain conditions could be excellent. Add one caught on the previous Saturday, and one on the Wednesday at Kinkell, and that's six for the week. Not a bad start. The fish were all spread out from "Napiers" to "The Marches" (top of the beat, down to the bottom). I believe two were on the fly and four on spinner / flying C. A couple of sea trout have also been caught, the largest, a respectable 3.5 lbr.

Looks like a fine day in July - was that today ? With water levels any lower the cows and sheep will loose their drinking hole - let alone any fish running. Did speak to Sandy today though and they're up at 232 fish and 500+ seatrout for the season - so looking good. Need rain badly .... I'm up on the last Saturday of the season.

The red lines show where we would want the river level to be at in October, against the bridge support in the background and the angler in the foreground. The blue arrow is where the angler would be able to comfortably wade with a good water level for "normal" October fishing. That said, they did pick up a fish today and a couple yesterday. Cracking day all the same. Altmor.
