I voted for the Le Cie, based on half an hour with one courtesy of Dennis at Kercock. With a Hardy Mach II it made me look good!
Thanks Dennis!

B & W Powerlite - The great all rounder, casts well, looks good and has the power to fish full sinkers and beat fish quickly in heavy currents.

LPXe, light, well finished, value for money and chucks an 85' head Carron with ease.

Trout and Salmon this month- Glasgow Angling Centre advert on page 13 has a Guideline XTS 15ft 2in 10/11 price £500 reduced to £200. Have never heard of this model but have just tried it with a mach 2 and it goes like s%*t of a shovel, so good i just ordered one. P.S. have heard there is limited supply about 18 of them.

Voted for the Norway as this is the only rod I've got. I have tried a few others but I prefer the Nway to them all.

Graham , thanks for taking the time . Encouraging to see that such an experienced angler as yourself as well as several others rate a relatively cheap and British built product so highly. Your comments re the Loomis' are very similar to some I made to Elwyman recently in respect of the Guideline Le Cie, ie good Summer , Grilse rod . Makes sense as they share a lineage. regards Steve Just read Graham's comments after trying Steve's 14' 8" Le Cie on the river tonight. A lovely light rod and nice to cast, but as Graham & Steve suggest, it is very much a summer/top of the water rod IMO. I'd be tempted to get one if it was 4-piece - ideal for the Conwy & the boot of the car. As Steve and I discussed tonight, different rods are better for different types of fishing, and different people's casting styles and abilities. The Norway is a great all rounder, but if you can afford more than one rod, then there are better rods for purely floating line or sunk line fishing - as if we need an excuse to buy another rod! ;D

And will break in the near future! ;D Q&A:.... Q: Who is more stupid, Hardy for having the brass neck for charging so much, or the punter for paying his hard earned brass for such foreign made, British logo'd stuff? A: .... submit on a postage stamp please. Mike

I've been using the Bloke Speymaster this summer and been really happy with its performance, get the timing right and it goes a mile but is still really forgiving for those casts that just don't pass muster

I had the Speymaster - got rid of it as it was too slow, even though it is described as having a fast action. The 5 piece is one of the best allrounders around imo.
