£16/fly. I'd expect real sterling silver hooks for that price, or a money back guarantee if you don't hook a fish every other cast.

£16, I am definitely missing a trick somewhere. I tied some up and found them no more difficult ir time comsuming than a normal conehead. The softer materials require a bit of care to tie with. At £16, I could sell a rod, buy 10, and send them into the water to chase the salmon out on to the bank, no?

Frodin does not have to tie flies to make a living, so if you want one he tied himself, he charges a fortune- He is so famous in Scandinavia that some people like to own a fly tied by the man himself. I certainly wouldn't pay £16 for a fly, but maybe if you wanted to put it behind glass as an example of a modern salmon fly, it would be fair enough.
I swam a turbo cone templedog for the first time on the Dee on saturday, and they definitely do add some movement to the fly. I wouldn't say it was dramatically different to a standard conehead, but it was definitely lively. My opinion now is that for preference I would fish the turbo cone fly, but it wouldn't bother me at all to switch back to a standard conehead.. The turbo cones do not make the fly wobble like a rapala, they just make the wing flicker and pulse more..

Whichever way you look at it thats one hell of a price for a fly, when you think if you tie your own they probably cost a fraction of that

I have fished the The Turbo cone discs they work well in the water but has anybody caught a fish on them yet I fished them on the Dee a few weeks ago and never touched a fish then changed to a conehead and caught several kelts and pulled many more .

That's amazing A friend recently had a couple of days on the Tweed and he caught nothing on regular patterns and coneheads. However, once he swapped over to a turbo coned fly, he had several kelts There's nowt as queer as Salmon!

Hi all
One thing I can assure you. I would not be buying the flies at £16 a go. All I am after is the actual turbo discs. I have not bought a fly for years. I tie my own flies and fancied a go at the revolution that is hitting the waters with a splash!!!!!!!

I understand the principal behind them, and liked the idea of being able to use softer materials. So I ventured out and got some and duly tied up some flies on them. Looking at the action in the water, it was not quite the revolution that I expected it to be, but then I should have known better as I had already tried very similar experiments with odds and ends from craft shops. I prefer the variation of weights that you get with standard coneheads, and think with the right materials you can get a better action with them. A conehead tied with the proper materials in the proper proportions looks more like a living thing in the water than a fat turbo cone marabou lumpy thingy. If you want more action in the lure itself try a rapala, kynoch ar tomic If you struggle to cast the extra weight, stick a multiplier on a spinning rod and this will help. However, do not try to spey cast it, overhead casting would be more appropriate, but please don't do any false casts. Also, remember to buy the latest and dearest spinning outfit that you can lay your hands on (it's important to look as if you know what you are doing). If the spinning lures that you see are less than £10 a go, they are probably rubbish and salmon will only laugh at them. So, go for the dearest ones you can find. They should not be difficult to find , their will be articles and advertisements for them everywhere you look!!!

I have caught a few kelts on them, but I could not see any significant difference in the action of the wing on the tube between one tyed with a turbo cone and the other with a normal cone head. It gave the gillies a good laugh though. At least if you'd forgotten your wallet, you could give the grateful gillie a turbo cone instead of a tip! ;D

£4.50 for a pack of 10! There is loads of different colours with different sizes so you'd need different sizes of you chosen colour. Now there's a way to make money
