hi there brendan its a salar 9. glad you like it. Using the orange badger was easky's idea, i think it transforms the fly. lite brite is well worth a go. if you dont rib it it frays and mingles with the tail. like seal's fur it also gives your flies a strong profile. can be good in fast water tied up to 3". here's a silver one a 9

Ross I know Easky is a fan of the lite brite too. So you deliberately dont rib it? Sounds interesting. Does that affect how long the fly will last? Nice flies indeed macd, like the look of that lite brite you use on the bodies, bound to catch the fishy's eye

brendan I rib it if the body is 50-50. But when its more of a butt as per the Mairi's Shrimp or on small flies, I dont bother. The flies' life span is reduced only by the incessant chewing of salmon ;D R Ross I know Easky is a fan of the lite brite too. So you deliberately dont rib it? Sounds interesting. hi brendan, are you getting a fish over there. im coming over for a visit in aug- got my own ghillie sorted too here is the dressing you asked for Tail: orange fox above and below Yellow Arctic Runner (twinkle of your choice- I use gold angel hair and orange micro flash) Tag: Oval Gold- varnish for strength Body: Rear-gold lite brite, Front- black seals fur, Rib- UTC mirage tinsel (or pearl tinsel) over font and rear. Wing: Black Fox or Runner with strands of Mosaic. (Any twinkle you fancy will do- I have been using purple angel hair of late). And JC Hackle: In the pic, Orange badger over yellow cock. But I think orange badger over yellow badger is nicer looking. Can’t speak for the fish. Thread: Red UTC 8/0 all the best Ross

Hi Ross your ghillie and I were just discussing the possible running order for your trip yesterday. :)My only concern is that I cant have him during the three days youre here Certainly last week's trip to the Easky was magical. You should definitely try it if the water is right. Anyway Easky will keep you right. Thanks for the dressing Brendan hi brendan, are you getting a fish over there. im coming over for a visit in aug- got my own ghillie sorted too here is the dressing you asked for Tail: orange fox above and below Yellow Arctic Runner (twinkle of your choice- I use gold angel hair and orange micro flash) Tag: Oval Gold- varnish for strength Body: Rear-gold lite brite, Front- black seals fur, Rib- UTC mirage tinsel (or pearl tinsel) over font and rear. Ross What are those things you have over the heads of the flies in the background to your photo Brendan They look like Eumer tubes with the cone attached to the tube?

www.eumer.com/index.php?name=Content&nodeIDX=703sloggi is right- they are eumer tubes which have a cone moulded into them. if i remember, will take a couple over. sounded like a great trip brendan im really looking forward to my visit. i hope there is a good drop of water in the easky- its namesake is certainly smitten by it.

Thanks Ross Thought it was some weird and wonderful way to get that perfect head you had on the cascade. It was the trip of a lifetime for me. One I will never ever forget. However I lost a fish on the Finn on Saturday so thats the last thing I can remember at the minute - at least until I catch the next one Brendan www.eumer.com/index.php?name=Content&nodeIDX=703sloggi is right- they are eumer tubes which have a cone moulded into them. if i remember, will take a couple over. sounded like a great trip brendan im really looking forward to my visit. i hope there is a good drop of water in the easky- its namesake is certainly smitten by it.
