Have searched for these Daiwa rods on the internet, 'googled' them and all, but no joy. Have they been released yet and, if so, are they what they are cracked up to be?

Had a go with some of the signature rods at the recent CLA gamefair and I thought they were cracking fishing rods, especially the 14 and 15'. They're also well able to ping a long line out, if that's what floats your boat. The finish on the ones I tried was excellent and the rods are slim and nicely balanced. Very impressive overall. Thanks Gerard. Any clue when these rods will hit the market place? Very keen to try one out and potentially invest. Glad you enjoyed using it. I guess the 15' will be c £400.....

I guess the 15' will be c £400..... 15' RRP is £425 if I'm not mistaken. They've only just come out so if you decide to get one you might have to ask your nearest Daiwa dealer to order one in for you as they might not be in stock everywhere yet. Gerard

The rods should be in the shops any day now. Had the pleasure of using the 14' at the weekend. Excellent rod. Bags of power but with a light touch for fishing a short line. I was over head casting on the thurso into a wind with a DT10 and had a wee spey cast or two. Once loaded the forward stroke is a doddle. Made me look like I was competent Good in a fish too Ross

As Ross says - any day now. Spoke to Daiwa this afternoon and the rods have just been released for delivery this afternoon. They are in a bit of a short supply though as the forward orders have been very strong. Should have mine in by the end of this week.

The rod prices seam fairly reasonable but whats up with the 18'er. Cant see a logical reason for such a jump. B&W charge about £100 more to go from 16' to 18'. I know they wont expect to sell may but at that price they wont sell any! Look forward to trying one soon. alan, for info the 18' is being relased as a limited edition. Only 100 will be made. They will numbered and come in highest quality tube cases. hope that helps Ross

3 pc, spigot joints. Gerard Thank you Gerard that will save me buying one of those. When will some of these rod manufacturers realize that some of us have to travel hundreds of miles to get to our fishing and having rods on view in the car to all and sundry is not a good idea when if the rods were four piece the majority of us could travel with them safely locked in the boot.Another point of course is when you window gets smashed and you rods disappear you get home make a claim on your house insurance and they ask was it locked in the boot and you say no they say tough I t looks as if I shall be sticking with the four piece rods I already have.
