Why is it when as soon as anybody makes a comment about the terrorists theres always a big debate about all muslims being offended. The joke was about a group of terrorists who were trying to kill innocent Brits, they dont deserve any respect or restraint. They are not the victims the British people were the intended victims (again). I think the average person would see the joke as just a joke and get on with their lives, not some political or religious statement. Johnmac stop trying to be the forum do gooder this country already has enough of them winding everyone up, and as for show some restraint, do you not think that the way British people just get on with life after these attacks is not showing the greatest restraint and common sense. The least we deserve is a bit of a laugh.

I tend to agree with the points raised by Springer. If you read the Scotsman article it was dealing precisely with these issues and making the point that the British people have historically been able to deal with situations of this nature by the use of humour. Its a serious article with some good jokes  |

I am really sad at how this thread has developed. After just about any major incident of any kind in the UK or World for that matter, a joke about it will arise. I don't think Hornet is being at all racist, the choice of the words 'singe' and 'majeep' or 'maheed' were bourne from an ethnic background. They were no different than if the bombers had been Geordies and the joker had chosen to use some local Geordie dialect to raise a laugh, if so I would not have been offended. Political correctness had gone mad in this country now and IMHO the way it has been championed in this thread is part of the reason we are now just Britain and no longer Great Britain. It worries me that a bloke on a forum cant share a laugh with his mates without the whole thing blowing up like this. I have Muslim friends and others from different ethnic minorities. I believe strongly in freedom of movement and where we choose to live. When for silly reasons like this the minority is defended and Hornet in this case is made to feel bad, undeservedly, I can see why it breeds a level of resentment in the UK to immigrants of any background.
