Col , my plan is get there ,fire up Kelly Kettle make tea ,set up sticks whilst shes coming to the boil . Beat location ,will get that from Mick Bloke Bell as he "kens it well"(hows that for Jock speak ) Not bad as long as the jock's win on the day.... Funny creatures these island salmon. I once saw one caught (by a poacher who had run out of worms) on a huge black slug! Don't suppose that's allowed on the Tweed though.

Ahhh so Black blobs are immitative ,so thats all right then will dress some for caberstoun and probbably for the Severn where flies with prescence are called for ! Fished Lower Caberston at the weekend - nice fly water, though it was on it's bones at 6". Full of fish, which seemed to be mostly red, though these will soon shift on after the next spate. As I said, nice fly water but a little too close to Walkerburn for my liking, though beggars can't be choosers. It was hard going, fish were off the take until that last magical hour before dusk. Tally? 2 fish plus one lost to a party of 5 and a half rods.........
