That is a lot of rubbish colin. what do you mean not as often?
I have no worries with graham and malcolm, but how come you disapear then appoint two members without recourse to anyone else?
Which members had complained? I dont accept you jumping to a decision like this without offering the courtesy of a discussion with other members.
Its damn lazy.

Wow !! and I thought I had 'anger management' issues (apparently). Sorry guy's - new member here as you all know - don't know the 'history' or forum 'constitution' - all I know is that ANYONE who is prepared to devote unpaid (?) time to any cause or facility is to be applauded - Colin, Salmonfly, and now the venerable messers G. Ritchie and W. Gunn. How can we (the remaining grass roots forum members assist you in the furtherance of this popular and successful endeavor ?? Please don't say something like " by not coming out with crap like that sinkingtip". Gonnae no dae that...... . Financially via sponsorship / advertising / banners ?? I for one would be interested in the 'details' of this if practical. Seriously !!

Malcom and Graham are fine by me, they'll do a good job. Not really sure why any discussion is needed.

What does a Moderator actually do and what is a moderator's remit?
Have to agree with Ross on this one - not the best decision.
No comment to make on the new moderators as I'd need a response to my question above to form an opinion.

I'm sure that appointing these two members as moderators can only be good for the forum if Colin is struggling to find time. In the short time I've been a member, there have been one or two new additions who have not exactly been for the common good, notipping for one (scottybot9nro is hugely funny btw, keep him). If part of the moderator's remit is to exclude these idiots then appointing two more only ensures it gets done faster for the benefit of us all. Just my opinion.

Yes, agreed but what is a Moderator's role & remit?

My opinion of what a moderator job should be. Ensure that all posts are suitable for viewing by everyone, ie remove all porn and inappropiate links. Remove any posts that endanger the hosting of the site. Stop any over heating of arguements at an early stage if at all possible.
If I miss any of the above please drop me a PM.
More simply an unpaid janitor.

I'm reading some of the stuff here and really don't have a clue what some of the guys are talking about; this is a wee fishing forum where like minded addicts share some banter and news. I like it. The hidden agendas/perceived slights and whetever else crapolla people have festering, has no place here. I don't know why there are new Jannies and I don't care. Lets keep talking about salmon eh?

Well springer you clearly feel strongly about something but I still can't work out what; maybe because I've not read all the threads on the forum - frankly, don't have the time or the interest. I don't know who 'notipping' is or what his relevance is. This is a WEE chat forum for boys and girls who enjoy salmon fishing and also (as far as I can see) for people who love salmon. In my opinion thats what its about - chatter about salmon fishing and the fish themselves - dark politics; sorry mate, I pass. ps Would you fancy sharing your story of your last happy day on the river?

SS,
I think you need to give Alan a break on this one mate, I also see your point but the likes of Alan and many others on here put a lot of time and effort into this forum and just don't want any troublemakers like Notipping, that don't give a toss about this site, tarnishing it.
Regards,
Gary

this would not have blown up if it were not for a simple lack of courtesy.
to be fair to alan, he has created and managed the line pool and managed a fly swap or two- he has some stake in this.
