sk i agree with yopur theory but as others have stated if some one is selling their catch they wont mind what price a permit costs im going for the future hear i can see web cams placed at "hot spots" not only to catch unscrupulous anglers but to promote the area oh & yes please i would like the curse lifted i even asked your missus if you kept your rod was in the car last week so i could return the curse ( please say thanks to her for holding on to the keys i misplaced) WRONG ,,,there would be less profit for the b@$7@60$ and they don't catch that many anyway, apart from one guy,THE REST JUST GET IN THE WAY,AS THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THE BASICS OF SALMON FISHING. rant over anyway im a sociable animal im off out for a pint Just the one SK!

I quite accept local anglers can be a problem but with a threat of expulsion they should be easier to manage. It was your use of the highlighted words , local , expulsion &easier to manage that I was wondering about.

Dear IBM59 Obviously when someone takes words out of their original context a number of potential new meanings are possible.

WRONG ,,,there would be less profit for the b@$7@60$ and they don't catch that many anyway, apart from one guy,THE REST JUST GET IN THE WAY,AS THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THE BASICS OF SALMON FISHING. rant over anyway I'm a sociable animal I'm off out for a pint Just the one SK! No I'm wrong there are two,,my apologies,,i forgot about him, As to IMB and rps,,above,i have met some very considerate visitors on our club water, and would welcome them with open arms,as for the two fishmongers, if i could id personally throw them off physically, and ban them, so as far as our club is concerned the us and them are the good anglers and the bad ones.

RP Salmon. I drive a Mercedes S Class, have a world leading professional qualification earn a great salary and occassionally like to go trout fishing at what I believe are called put and take fisheries. I object to your unfounded prejudiced remarks effectively criminalising mine, and many other people who have worked hard to obtain their professional qualifications, leisure time because of your wildly inaccurate and generalised remark. I find you remarks upsetting and deeply offensive. Again,I draw the conclusions posted here a couple of weeks ago. Please remove the offending post in this thread. Surely the moderators, one having a professional qualification himself, will surely have no option to take further action for your offensive behaviour yet again. When will your bitterness end? ZH

Zephead, I do not wish to have an argument with anyone, however I feel that you have taken RPs comments entirely wrongly . My interpretation of his posting, was that it is not always the stereotypical "Delboy" individuals who are likely to be dishonest and bend the rules, stereotypical "professionals" are equally likely to get up to no good. At 6.45 am on a Sunday I can not be bothered to start listing examples that have been in the public eye, but Nick Leeson immediately springs to mind. Maybe I missed something, but where has he attacked you, WG or for that any specific individual in this thread?. Any way, I am off fishing in England today (Sunday fishing), with my BMW, fat salary and professional qualifications, blissfully unaffected and happy that when I get home tonight, this subject will be going on and on and on and on......... It is a sad indictment of MANY people on both Forums, that the responses to "Springer is on Holiday" and "Postcard from Splash" outnumbered the River Garry and Tay Headwaters Survey threads, Good to see we have our priorities and ego's sorted out.
P.S. I have just spotted your latest attempt at posting the other Forum link I think that nicely confirms RPS observation that "Professionals" can often use underhand tactics don't you?

The comments by R P S are fine if looked at closely, and not taken out of context,,,,don't be over sensitive ,,unless there are ulterior motives of course.

I didn't take Zephead's remarks seriously, I am sure he is a credit to his profession.
There is no implication that all professional or wealthy people are dodgy characters. I found out why the the fishery manager checked high end cars because I noticed him go along a line of 20 cars and only pick on the 3 or 4 BMW's/Audi's/Merc's/whatever, and couldn't help but be concerned how long he would last in his job by doing such. Upon inquiring he told me the reason why he did such, at the time I had an expensive car and was checked! Due to vandalism against expensive cars, indeed any normal car that is sporty, flashy, or is quite new, or very old!, I now ensure I have a light but plain looking car of a couple of years old but not too old. Have not had any vandalised for years!

It was the hint of an ulterior motive that prompted me to question rpsalmons post. In addition ,I too have a senior professional qualification , earn a large salary but drive an " M " reg banger . Glad to know that makes me all right.

So where does that leave me then,i have a profession, work for me can take time off when ever i choose, can earn large amounts of money if i choose, and i did not so long ago,,,ID RATHER GO FISHING,,,,but I'm not offended. I couldn't give a monkeys about the class thing,WE'LL ALL END UP IN THE SAME PLACE IN THE END,and if you have a highly paid career or not,I TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME. BRAINS OR NOT YOU CAN STILL BE A bad example I just happen to care and like fishing for salmon, now can we get back to fishing please. P S,,,,ITS HOW WE ALL CONDUCT OURSELVES THAT MATTERS.

I fail to see what profession or education or even what car you drive has got to do with the sport of fishing! For what it's worth I have a very stressful job, working long hours for very little reward. I enjoy fishing because for me there's nothing else I'd rather do to unwind.
Frankly I wouldn't even care if there were no fish to aim for, because sometimes the escape from work is enough. It's all well and good to be able to command a high salary, drive a nice car and boast to everyone about how successful we are, but I'd like to think that on the river bank we're all equal. And we should certainly all be caring for the environment that gives us so many hours of pleasure.
So let's stop point scoring and bickering and get on with sharing ideas and information about the sport we all enjoy.
