13lb River Leven 2005, until I caught this fish my largest game fish as an 11 lb Sea Trout caught(& returned) from the River Endrick in 2002. Now starting to venture further afield to the Tay, North Esk etc.. so I am hoping to improve on my personal best very shortly.

Not a personal best in terms of size, but in unusualness... Was fishing in Ballater one cold June day and landed the following (all on fly): 2x salmon (not especially large) 3x sea-trout 1x brown trout (3lb) 1x rainbow trout (3lb) 1x pike (4lb) on a shrimp fly That must be a "full-house" Was about 5 years ago and was sworn to secrecy by the beat as they didn't want anyone to think they had rainbows and/or pike in the river

To carry on from Sloggi in unusualness.
Fishing an Ally's Shrimp one August on the river Endrick I caught a Grilse, Sea Trout, Brown Trout and a 4lb Chub on the meetings stretch below the Pots of Gartness. I thought about nipping up to Killearn House Fishery to catch a Rainbow Trout, but didn't ,as the water on the Endrick was good. Didn't get anything after the Chub !!

Haven't heard of chub from the Endrick before - is that not unusual in itself, without the rest of the day's catch ?

Altmor, sadly there is quite a few Chub on the lower Endrick. I think they were introduced a while ago by Pike fisher's when livebaiting. You also catch alot of Dace as well on that stretch.

I fish the Endrick well up beyond the "Pots", most often in sept / oct. I guess the chub won't get over the falls, hence never having seen one. Have seen eels though (not caught), and of course kingfishers - a beautiful sight on any river.

Altmor, I have only caught one Chub on the Endrick(hopefully my last !), I have also seen another angler catch a 3lb Chub on the Croftamie stretch(on bait), only the migrartory fish get over the pots.
Everyone else, apologies for going off on a tangent here, back to personal best salmon !
