Great story there.
I am so glad Robert had such a memorable day on the River Dee.
Having spoken to Robert on the Saturday, I know how excited he was about the day in prospect. The things that dreams are made of.
Well done Robert!

A wonderful recount of what must have been a truly memorable day for both ghillie and captor. Wish I had been there - great stuff.

Superb, can't wait for Saturday. These are the kind of stories that got me into salmon fisher as a youngster, and that keep me going when things are slow.

Magnificent story and fish, well done to all.
I cannot wait to return to Park, great beat, Ghillie and fish!
Kenny, tell us the story about your Giant fish, from a season or two ago, I never really got a chance to hear that one

Well done TRIPLE WHAMMEY. From DOUBLE WHAMMEY. I suspect only Robert will understand. Never go with the flow until you listen to the stream. delboy.

Off to Deeside tommorrow for a week at Woodend - conditions look like they should be fairly favourable . Has anybody who has fished the Dee recently noted the water temperature? Any last minute tips always welcome

Great - thanks.
Presume it was the cold water today that has knocked the catches down a bit?

What does the flamethrower look like - sure i have seen one before? Have just stuck one in the scanner but will give you the idea. It can be tied in different colours but it was this original orange version with yellow front hackle which scored yesterday. Duncan first wrote about this fly and its dressing in the March 2004 edition of FlyFishing and FlyTying. It and its variants have certainly caught a lot of fish for me and my friends since.
