And even more today! Last week, casting over all those finicky fish, I was sure a smallish short-lived spate would work wonders. And how! Fenton, how is your Beat performing? I'd imagine quite satisfactorily, else I'm Jack Frost! Any chance of more reports and photos? The report last time made me feel I was there, keep them coming, that's what makes these forums. Tight lines!

I notice quite a few fish are being caught at and above Ettrickmouth, at Boleside. Anyone able to say what class of fish these are?

Just home from 3 days at Lower Makerstoun. A most lovely place- too lovely for fishing though, the water was incredibly clear and low. The forecasted rain never came, oh well, I was just happy and priviliged to cast over such water in October, something that normally would be out of my reach. The wife loved the weather though so brownie points scored there though. Had a constant feeling the fish were there, but just doing a disappearing act. Managed two salmon on size 14 red little things- but it was hard going. Felt a bit better on hearing the Floors, Junction and Hendersyde beats fared no better. Good to meet Sagefly ..... hope I can reciprocrate soon, the best is still to come!

Any current news out there? Catches seem to be keeping up very well, given the desperate lack of water. Are these new, or older fishes? I notice a few big ones are getting caught too...... would love to hear some stories...
